In June, Dave suggested a get out of Dodge trip for late July and invited a couple of friends (Alan and George) to join us. The map above shows the trail of breadcrumbs from our ancient GPS as we wandered through the Emigrant Wilderness. The days were mild for a July trip, but hiking in direct sun always feels much hotter. We relished the few shaded sections of trail. Night time temps were also quite mild. Our original plan was to take two days to reach a trail loop that took us around many small lakes.
