Around my birthday, Andra and I planned a short getaway to relax in the woods. It's unusual for us to take off on a trip without reservations, permits, and other details firmly in hand, but this trip was different. I wanted to get out of town for my birthday and enjoy the great outdoors. We took off Saturday October 6th and drove to McArthur-Burney State Park. During the off-season they do not even take reservations and with good reason. The following pages detail our relaxing adventure.
