Backpacking Trip to Rush Creek Area

As usual a topo map and elevation profile for this trip is attached above. The Rush Creek area was an area we were suppose to visit two years ago when we were snowed out of the mountains and had to bail out down HWY 120. This year I wanted to hike into the area as early as possible. My plan was originally to go in mid-May before the colleges get out. This was to avoid the only age group that seems to do this sort of thing any more. However, the road to the trailhead was not going to open until Memorial Day weekend and we avoid holiday weekends like the plague. That meant starting May 30th and hoping the busy entry point I selected would not be "too" busy yet. Without the drought, there would have been no chance of making this trip in May without winter camping gear and snowshoes. As you can see from the elevation profile, most of the hiking is above 9,000ft elevation.
