All you wimps that can't go backpacking because you can't go a week without showering while wearing the same clothes - DON'T LOOK at this photo! It might ruin the litany of excuses you make up to keep your butt glued to your couch. Dave reads a book in camp while our shirts dry in the afternoon breeze. By some freak of nature there is a spot in our camp where I can get a cell connection. I put this to good use by checking the weather forecast each day. A system is moving in, but today's forecast shows it to be weak with only a 10% chance of rain tomorrow.
The next day the super accurate weather forecast delivers 10% rain on this little pond, 10% on my poncho, 10% on Andra, well... you get the picture.
After our long hike yesterday, we planned to take the day off and rest before tomorrow's long hike over Gem Pass to Alger Lakes. Andra and I decide to wander down to the shore of Gem Lake and check things out. This stream running into the lake is chock-full of fish. Most are trying their best to avoid being pushed downstream.
