Mammoth Lakes Vacation August 2023

Needing a vacation and not having a backpacking trip planned until late September, we spent the week in Mammoth Lakes hiking. This staged picture was supposed to be the position between James Moriarty and Sherlock Holmes; however, when I looked up the assumed position, I failed to put on my glasses. Having not read the text carefully, I used the wrong position. So I apologize to my chess friends who were going to be tasked to figure out where the game originated. It is still a cool photo, so here it is.

By the way, since 4K monitors are becoming common, if you have a high resolution monitor and have set your "Scale and layout" in windows to 125% or more so you can read the tiny print, your browser will follow suit. This means the pictures on my pages will be stretched and look like hell. If you have set windows to 125%, setting your browser zoom level to 80% will counteract this. You can do this by pressing Ctrl - (Control key and the minus key) twice. You can restore to 100% by hitting Ctrl 0 or Ctrl + twice. Don't ruin the pretty pictures!
