On day four we planned to hike up to Loch Leven Lake. This entry point is where our September backpacking trip begins and I wanted to investigate trail conditions and snow levels. Piute pass is well over 11,000ft and we did just have a record breaking winter. To paraphrase Spock, this trail requires a feat of athletic legerdemain and a degree of intrepidity. In layman's terms - I left my camera behind and took trekking poles. Andra took pictures and I used my phone camera.

Looking back the way we came.
