Here we are at the trailhead. It is now 11:30am. The temperatures have been ranging from 25°F at night to 70°F during the day. Our only goal today was to hike into Glen Aulin and make camp. The next day (Saturday) we planned on exploring the water falls and then hiking back out on Sunday.
We're about 3.7 miles in and have reached the first bridge near Tuolumne Falls. Last year this is about as far as we made it. Compare the water level and snow between the two years by linking to last year at this bridge.
This is Tuolumne Falls. Tuolumne Falls is approximately 100 ft tall and is protected by ferocious man-eating mosquitoes the size of choppers.
