Glen Aulin Trailhead To Waterwheel Falls

On June 2nd we had planned a training trip originally just for Jay to school him in the ways of the backpacker. Jay wanted to join us on one of our longer adventures and I suggested he try a shorter trip to get his feet (dogs) wet. During the lead up to this trip we got numerous others interested and the final count stood at eight when this cool trip launched. The map of our trek is show above. We hiked from the Glen Aulin trailhead down to Waterwheel Falls and back. The area is also called the Grand Canyon of Tuolumne. We camped two nights at the triangle marked on the map. The elevation profile is shown below the map, and as can be seen, the largest elevation loss/gain was just past Waterwheel Falls. Total elevation gain 3,262ft, with a trip distance (excluding us wandering around) of 16.5 miles. The trailhead starts at about 8,600ft elevation. The low point past Waterwheel Falls where we turned around was around 6,250ft elevation.
