Mount Tallac (9,735ft) and the end goal of our day hike. The sky looked a tad bit hazy as the smoke from local fires has still not cleared. The trailhead starts at about 6,500 ft, leaving 3,200 ft of climbing.
The early parts of the trail take you up onto a saddle with beautiful views of Falling Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe.
