We reached Floating Island Lake in no time flat. The last two times I've hiked this trail, we were wearing snowshoes. Let me assure you it is way easier to find and stay on the trail after the snow melts!
We stopped again to take photos. To the right you can see Cathedral Lake peeking out. Falling Leaf Lake is on my left shoulder and Tahoe is in the distance.
Here is a great view of the lakes. There were many sailboats on Lake Tahoe and you can see the casinos in the distance. We've gained quite a bit of elevation already.
