We've come up quite a bit, but there is much more climbing to go. The small patch of beach you see is where I was wandering earlier. Our campsite is just off the right edge of this photo.
Andra photographs the trail as we continued.
Here we've come across a very large downed tree. The trail has actually been eroded badly on this side of the tree and the photograph does not do justice to how steep the slope is. You'll notice the tree comes up to Andra's shoulders. To the right it drops off about 50ft into a bunch of broken limbs. Not a good place to fall. Much of the erosion has been caused by hikers circumnavigating the road block.
