This series of meadows is really quite lovely. (unlike the Fire Swamp). If it wasn't inside a national park, I'd build a summer home here. Besides there are no R.O.U.S.'s (that one's for you Callie :))
We will continue upstream along Rancheria Creek. This canyon is very beautiful also. The mixture of rock canyons and meadows helped take my mind off my tiring legs. I don't think it was working so much for "squats a lot" (Andra's indian name).
Does it get any prettier than this? I think not. The trail climbs all the way along the creek until we reach a peak elevation of nearly 9700 ft.
