We've made the Grizzly Cutoff. This is one of the "intermittently used" trails I mentioned earlier. It is intermittently used for good reason. It is incredibly steep! I'm guessing it is "intermittently used" by hikers coming down from the top, not hefting heavy packs up the other way. The trail had downed trees on it and was getting overgrown by vegetation. When it finally eased up on us a bit, we stopped for a photo. |

We've made the top, which is a big meadow. That is Grizzly Peak! The trails up here connect in a rather bizarre and inefficient way. My plan was to cut a third of a mile or more off by making an off trail cross country connection. |
