Standing a little above where you saw Dave earlier, I stop for a picture. Dave is not far off but out of view.
Here we've reached the top of the pass and this is looking down the other side. We need to hike down into that valley where you see the trees and continue many more miles to reach Washburn Lake.

Looking back the way we came. The section on the left that is currently covered in clouds was particularly spiked. This mountain range is the home of the Minarets. Most view these spiked mountains from the Mammoth Lakes Ski area on the other side of the Sierras.
