The next day we decided to hike up to the Ptarmigan Tunnel. There were signs up warning of active grizzly bears in this particular area. Nothing keeps you on your toes like avoiding grizzly bears.

We've come up in elevation and continue along the trail you see in this photograph. We are excited to see the huge sweeping valley that lies on the other side.

Looking back the way we came. The clouds are getting thicker, but fortunately we have avoided all grizzly encounters.
