Here I am at the same spot. The trail skirts around the right side of the lake and continues left out of this photo.
We've passed all the little lakes and are now making the final push up over the summit. Temperatures are reasonable, but there is no shade along this part of the trail.
Standing near the top of Summit Pass, we get our first glimpse of Summit Lake. We plan to camp at the far end of the lake. Summit Lake can feature strong winds, but we were very fortunate to have mild weather.
