With our first opportunity to relax in camp, I made this video describing our first day.
In the evening, we crawl into the tent and I instantly realize I've made a major mistake. I took my shoes off before getting in and then foolishly told Dawg it was okay for him to come in. He proceeded to plop right in between my legs on my sleeping bag and yes, he is already asleep. Unable to get undressed or into my sleeping bag without manually moving him. "Ivan Klimatovich" (the talker), let out a series of moans and groans each time I moved him around as I got ready for bed.
The next morning we had a long segment ahead of us, so I decided to use the stove to speed up making breakfast. Cooking the pancakes on the stove was more difficult than over a fire, but starting the stove is faster, and it also doesn't take any effort to put it back out. This morning we made blackberry pancakes and decided we liked those better. From here on out, we saved the strawberries for snacks and exclusively made blackberry flapjacks. Dawg waits patiently for the last 1 to 1.5 pancakes we won't eat.
