Marlette Lake offers stunning views and I was looking forward to stopping there for lunch.
As we approached the lake, Dawg took off and before I realized what was happening this poor bear was running up a tree to safety. I called Dawg back before he got closer than 40ft, but we were only about 100ft to the poor bear. He ran to the tree and was up at least 35 feet in under 5 seconds. I was impressed with just how fast he could climb.

Since the tree was just off the trail, I decided not to continue and just let the bear climb back down. Remember, if some dip shit ranger ever tries to tell you that bears follow dogs out of the woods to eat their owners, this is pure nonsense. Rangers are indoctrinated and propagandized by our broken K-12 babysitting system, followed by 4 or more years in liberal stupidity classes. Dogs and bears are adversarial and bears generally want to get as far from dogs/wolves as possible. The rangers that know better are what we common folk call - liars.
