The next morning we set out to hike a trail along the beach. This trail was described in our book as the most beautiful of all the coastal trails. It starts at Whalehead Cove and goes south along the beach. I teased Andra that the trip was all downhill from here. We started with the most beautiful and it would only get worse as we continued north! The author basically says, the most beautiful part of the Oregon coast is the last 25 miles before you reach California. After driving through more than 25 miles of the Northern California coast to get here, I'd revise the book to say, "The most beautiful part of the Oregon Coast is actually in California."
After walking along the beach for a while, we ran across a series of tide pools. This starfish and sea anemone caught my eye.
More hungry starfish with piles of empty shells from their favorite food. |
