I photographed this giant sea turtle off Poipu Beach. Unfortunately I was not fast enough to catch him before his head went under the water.
The Spouting Horn. This dual-lava tube breathes air making an eerie dragon sound. Hawaiian legend has it that a giant female lizard or dragon once terrorized the entire South side. She would eat anyone that ventured into the ocean or fished along the coastline. One day a brave warrior named Liko went fishing there and when the dragon attacked him, he speared it in the mouth. The wounded dragon chased Liko into the lava tube. Liko was small enough to escape, but the poor dragon was trapped forever. Today you can still hear the breathing of the dragon.
