I frantically pulled the lens cap off my camera to snap a picture of these mountain goats before that idiot scared them all away. The bonehead just walked straight up until they all ran off. Amazing how people will walk full steam up to a sign telling them it is illegal to harrass the animals by approaching too close.
We're now inside the fire lookout building. You can see the reflection of the window on the right. That montain range in the distance is one edge of the caldera. You can really get a feel for just how big the caldera is from up here. This is why I highly recommend taking this hike.
I'm looking west now. That far mountain range is another edge.
