Upper Falls from the side.

The Yellowstone river. The canyon walls are soft material eaten away by water and acid. The once strong stone has been broken down allowing the river to cut a deep canyon. Yellow sulfur colors the sides.

Looking across the canyon, I photographed one of the other lookout points. There is a short trail that leads you to the top of that very long staircase. This picture does a great job of showing the immense size of the canyon.
