There was a nasty accident at the bottom of one of the steep descents. When I arrived it looked like a ball of bikes, but I tried not to look as I was more concerned with having someone crash into the back of me as I navigated around the accident. People were flying down that hill, and with all the twists and turns, there wasn't much time for people to react. As soon as I got past it, I started warning Andra over the radio. Since she knows not to take her hands off her handlebars while descending, I had no way of knowing if she was within range and could hear me. I just kept repeating the message to slow down. The picture above is Andra coming into the second rest stop. I was thrilled to hear her on the radio once she made it to the flats and checked in. We ate some fruit, I tweaked my computer sensor and we headed out for the lunch stop. I was putting in a blazing pace and told Andra I was going to push through the flatter northern part of the route in an attempt to break my record Tour de Tahoe pace. |

I arrived at the lunch stop with plenty of time to break out the camera. I called Andra on the radio to get some warning before she arrived. That's my little blonde bombshell in the back! |

Andra was looking good. She was putting in a spectacular pace too! |
