Last time we hiked through this section on the Virginia Lakes to Twin Lakes hike, I took a picture of this spot. I just think it looks neat. We are rapidly losing elevation as we head for the campground at Twin Lakes and our car!
This picture is a bit hot, but the forest, mountains and overall look of this area is really pretty.
Our final dreaded water crossing and Andra isn't looking forward to it. In the movie on the next page, you'll see me cross. You'll notice I pause for a good long time and look upstream. I don't think I will have any problems crossing here, but many of the steps are widely spaced and I'm looking upstream to see if there is a more Andra sized set of step points. After analyzing the tangled mess of rocks and downed trees above, I conclude this is as good as it gets.
