This is looking down the steep mountain we are climbing. You can see just how far up we've come already. To think we were crossing a river at the bottom of that valley just a short time ago.
Despite the fact that we missed an opportunity to photograph the entire fall from the valley floor, we did make an effort to photograph sections of it as we climbed ever higher.

We've reached the top of the climb and this is just a small side section of Tilden Lake. The rest of the lake lies through that distant channel in the back of this photo. In case you were wondering, the mosquitoes are thick as thieves here. That is not sasquatch running across the lake on the left, it is indeed a mosquito.

The trail is very muddy here making it very easy to spot animal tracks. There were plenty of deer footprints, but then we came across a substantial number of dog prints. Dogs (pets) are prohibited in Yosemite's back country. This could mean only one thing - coyotes. A bit further along we spotted racoon prints. I knew right then, food storage would need to be done with maximum effectiveness.
