The next day winds were calm and the pesky mosquitoes were back in force. The head nets are incredibly effective, but it takes a bit of time to turn off your natural tendency to react when things are buzzing at your ears. We got things packed up and started heading for Tilden Lake. I expected the terrain to start dropping off as soon as we left Dorothy Lake, but in fact it continued nearly flat for quite a while. We walked through several wet meadows with clouds of mosquitoes before we began to descend. It was much dryer once we started down and the mosquito problem abated. |
