You can see from the mirrored lake that the chilly winds are all gone. Since we were supposed to be here the day before, we were only going to stay one night instead of two. However, Merced lake is only a few miles away and we figured we'd enjoy the morning before packing up. We used the extra time to lay items in the sun to further dry them and packed up after lunch. |

Andra takes a photo of us as we are arriving at the Merced Lake High Sierra Camp. So far we have not seen one single hiker. I told Dave I figured we wouldn't see anyone until we hit Merced Lake and I was right. The camp closes in September (thank goodness), so there are not many backpackers in the area. We scouted around and found a great campsite. |
