Andra couldn't resist getting a picture of this toad. He seems well suited to blend in with the granite rocks.
Just beginning the descent, I stopped to pose for a picture. From here the trail takes a very steep set of switchbacks down into the valley.
The clearing clouds from the retreating storm system made some dramatic shapes. This almost looks like the plume from an explosion, fire or volcano.
