Having reached very steep sections, I wasn't willing to risk continuing so we turn back towards camp.
The creek cuts under the snow making snow bridges. These can be quite dangerous should you fall through one. This concept and avoiding them is quite easy for humans. Explaining it to the dog is not as straightforward. Instead I must watch him carefully and call him away from unsafe areas. This is similar to my river safety videos posted in 2017 during the Cascade Creek trip.
This is how the old man crosses the creek. He hops down the snow bank, steps over the creek, and climbs up the other side.
