Even though today was a fairly short day, everyone is still tired from yesterday's long walk. While Andra and I spend time bathing in the creek, Dawg doesn't bother to come down with us. He instead guards our food supply in camp while we get cleaned up and wash some laundry. No squirrel can get within 50 ft of our stash. He is a relentless defender of camp. He's happy to see anyone coming along the trail as we hike, but once we stake the tent into the ground, no animal or human is allowed into camp. Poor Kelly found that out yesterday as it took me a couple minutes to get Dawg to stop barking at him and his horse. "Home is where you hang your hat," is not just some old saying to Dawg. |
