Mt. Rushmore

In July 2021, we drove 5000 miles of roads nearly all in Wyoming to learn more about the State. We got so close to South Dakota, that we felt it was stupid not to pop over to see Mt. Rushmore and watch the lighting ceremony. If you have the chance to go, I highly recommend it.

We also toured Deadwood and camped out in several cool locations, but those pictures are lost in the Andra picture archive. Maybe she'll display them some day. Anyway, in this first photo we have just come up to the monument and although my car is parked in a covered multi-floor parking structure, it was very hot. With Dawg sleeping in the car, we planned to stay for the shortest time possible and therefore never entered any of the visitor center buildings.
