The sun sets and the temperature drops. Time for jackets, beanies and hot tea! Dawg's facial swelling has faded after he attempted to eat a bumblebee earlier today. I had to open his mouth and pull the stinger out of his lower lip. He had a knot swollen up the size of a spherical quarter. We felt so bad for him we didn't think to take a picture of the drooling facially lopsided protector of camp before his face returned to normal. | ||
The next morning it is time to cook up another batch of delicious blackberry pancakes. Dawg watches the half hour long process (we have a tiny skillet), knowing that at the end, there will be leftovers. Cooking on a fire makes the process so much easier. The stove is just too hot and I have to hold the pan just the right distance away. Here I squirt some olive oil into the pan before adding more batter. |
