As we spiral higher, the trees thin and get shorter. We rapidly lose their shade and are glad we started early. | ||

There are no more trees, and the trail is now rock rather than dirt. These sections would destroy an ornament dog's feet. Fortunately for Dawg, he walks on this type of trail all the time. Many of the canyons here in Nevada where we walk are more rock than dirt. |
