The waterfall you see here is Rush Creek dropping into Gem Lake. We planned to camp behind the rock hill to the right of the falls.

Andra foolishly forgot to take Ginko before this trip and started feeling the effects of altitude sickness by the time we had camp set up. I carry some in our first aid kit, but she had a miserable evening/night with a headache. I suggested instead of doing a long day hike the next day that we just fiddle around locally near Gem Lake. In the grand scheme of things it is probably good Arthur didn't come. He was working a double shift and the hike in would have been too much for him. I'm currently in a bit better condition than Andra, but she is in pretty good condition, and I was surprised she was burning out during the hike to Gem Lake.

This is Rush Creek just before it passes our camp and drops into Gem Lake. Everyone is thrilled to have gotten rid of their big packs.
