We have finally reached Agnew Lake. As you will see in the video above, they panicked this spring when they realized this dam would not survive a 6.0 magnitude earthquake. They quickly dumped the water out and are now removing the dam.

This is the Agnew Lake Dam from the upriver side. You can see the edge of the lake at "natural levels" as it slowly streams out and down the hillside.

Looking up the valley, you have a better look at Agnew Lake. You can see the high water mark if it had been full and also the Gem Lake dam high and in the back of this photo. The dog is not just sightseeing. He is considering going down the embankment to the water. This trail section has very little shade and although I can give him water, I can't cool him. The pack makes it even more difficult for the poor guy to say cool. Dawg's total pack weight this trip was 7.25 lbs.

As we hiked along the lake before heading up to Gem Lake, he made several starts down the embankment before I'd tell him to stay on trail.
