In a normal snow year and especially later in the summer, this would be a tiny stream you'd just step over. As we continued south and gained elevation, the streams got harder and harder to step over. | ||
That is the West Walker River down there. This section is an exceptionally narrow deep channel. The amount of water ripping through is staggering. |

It may not look so impressive from way up here, but that first photo you saw of it while I was standing on the foot bridge should tell you just how much water is compressed between the two narrow rock banks in this image. |
