There are lots of downed trees and snags. Day hiking without a big pack, most were not an issue. However, if you were carrying a full pack, many trees would require you to take it off and shuttle it under or over before continuing.
We've reached the stock crossing for Fremont Lake. The hikers crossing is another quarter mile further.
This is the stock crossing and you can see the trail on the far side of the river. No horse would survive the attempt at present. A horse's feet would not touch bottom here and the super fast ice cold water would sweep it down stream. We continued to the next major stream crossing, had lunch, and turned back to camp.
