This is Andra's favorite meadow near our camp. It has the old fence surrounding it and the Whipple Pile sign.
We walked the riverbank and looped through the outer edge of the meadow.
Not far from this spot, Dawg was sniffing around when he took off in a panic. He was unknowingly standing just 5 feet from a fresh deer carcass. However it died, or was killed, the local animals had not consumed much yet. It was fully skinned but there was plenty of meat on the ribs yet. The smell of death freaked out our little animal lover and he took off like a rabbit out of a box. We returned the next day and it had been moved about 10 feet and more flesh was removed. Some local cat or bear was eating good in the neighborhood!
