The next day we head for the Cascade Creek trail. This is where that river swim practice will come into play as Dawg must ford the river alone. We always cross rivers one at a time. This way if someone gets into trouble the other can respond. In fact, if we are crossing with packs, I cross and drop my pack before Andra starts. This way I'm ready to respond should the need arise. |

Once on the other side we make our way away from the river and begin bushwhacking our way towards Cascade Creek. This pool in one arm of the Walker River and is more than 10 feet deep. That big log down there should give you some perspective. |

We've worked our way back to Cascade Creek and we now cross several arms of the creek before reaching the meadow with the trail. |
